The Big Bang Theory' Season 9 premiere date, plot spoilers: Will fans finally see Leonard and Penny Marry?
After Season 8 of "The Big Bang Theory" ended with Leonard (Johnny Galecki) and Penny (Kaley Cuoco-Sweeting) eloping to Las Vegas, fans will finally be able to see the couple tying the knot.
The Season 9 premiere will begin from the moment the two were left at the altar in Las Vegas. Fans are aware that the two will finally get married, but what has kept them on the edge of their seats so far is trying to imagine what the situation will be when they officially tie the knot. That's because Leonard had kissed another woman named Mandy when he had been travelling abroad and Penny is now about to discover this.
But executive producer Steve Molaro has confirmed that the two will get married in the Season 9 premiere despite all the differences. "Chuck [Lorre] and I had a long talk about [revealing the wedding before the premiere]," he tells The Hollywood Reporter.
"That was not a positive message-and we didn't want fans to feel like, 'Oh, they're going to pull the rug again and not do it.' There is so much more story beyond that moment that we decided to just let people know."
In the premiere episode of the "Late Show With Stephen Colbert" on Tuesday night, fans got to have a sneak peek of the premiere episode of Season 9 titled "The Momentum."
According to Movie Web, the trailer showed the couple at the altar exchanging vows while the rest of their friends watch via satellite. But all the drama won't be restricted only to the wedding and the two will also face "quite a challenge" on their wedding night, teased Molaro. Further into the series, Leonard will try to settle the matter by facing the woman whom he had kissed.
Catch all the drama when "The Big Bang Theory" returns on Monday, Sept. 21.
