'The Big Bang Theory' Season 9 Spoilers: Shamy Relationship Surprised Creator of Series
Stars of the hit series "The Big Bang Theory" have recently shared some details about Sheldon and Amy's relationship.
The previous episodes of "The Big Bang Theory" season 9 proved to be milestones for the couple named "Shamy." Mayim Bialik, the actress who portrays the role of Amy, recently spoke to Yahoo TV about the dynamics between the two. Bialik explained that her character was the one who was constantly pushing the two of them into a more intimate relationship.
Jim Parson, who plays the role of Sheldon, explained his side of the story as well. He stated, "Sheldon's eager for her to know she's special to him, and this is one of the items of the list that he feels could show that."
With that, fans can expect that the season will shed some light on how their relationship will evolve and grow throughout their time together. Meanwhile, the creator of the series, Chuck Lorre, shared some of his sentiments toward their relationship during the Hollywood Radio and TV Society luncheon.
He explained that their story line was created by the head writer of the series, Steve Molaro. Lorre emphasized that they treated the scene with a lot of care, taking many months for its development. He stated, "It was handled with a lot of delicacy. There is a very elegant way the episode was written so that yes, they have taken a very large step forward, but it doesn't undermine the nature of the relationship."
Lorre also expressed his own surprise at the season's outcome. He said that this was not something he imagined when they began the series. He actually believed at the time that Sheldon was actually asexual. With that, he said, "To have him now, nine years later, having an intimate relationship with a woman is really wonderful as a writer because you're not doing the same thing every week. The characters can sneak up on you and change a little bit."
