'The Blacklist' season 3 release date, plot spoilers: Liz is FBI's most wanted, viewers to expect big changes to show
The third installment of 'The Blacklist' is coming back to the TV screens soon and fans are going to see a lot of changes from its return. It can be recalled from the first two seasons that Elizabeth 'Liz' Keen, played by Megan Boone, worked for the law as an FBI profiler. But this coming new season, her name is tainted and is even deemed as FBI's most wanted as she "turned to become a fugitive," notes Master Herald. She is also on the run now from the authorities with Raymond "Red" Reddington, played by James Spader, after murdering Tom Connolly, played by Reed Birney.
Season three of "The Blacklist" is really going to give more focus on Liz and her bitter past secrets. As reported by Yibada, the movie creator Jon Bokenkamp initially revealed that the chief reason why Liz followed a career as an FBI profiler was really because of her past life. The same source cited that she is called Masha Rostova and she murdered her father while trying to defend her mother who is found out to be a former Russian spy.
Robert Greenblatt, chairman of NBC Entertainment, hinted that viewers will be seeing big changes in the upcoming season. According to Zap2it, Greenblatt said in the recently held Television Critics Association summer press tour that the show will receive a whole new energy through the shift of the storyline that they will make.
"The trajectory of the story is great since it is a switch-up from what the format has been. Liz and Reddington are literally on the escape. It is going to revitalize the whole show. It is a different feel this year," said Greenblatt.
"The Blacklist" Season 3 will officially hit the TV screens on Oct.1. It was initially slated to premiere in September but it had to be delayed to make way to the premiere episode of "Heroes Reborn" on NBC.
