'The Blacklist' Season 3B Spoilers: Blacklister Gina Zanetakos Set to Return

American crime drama TV series "The Blacklist" is returning to the small screen soon and fans are already anticipating the new episodes, especially following the events of the winter finale. But more than that, a character from the first season is coming back.

According to iDigital Times, former Blacklister Gina Zanetakos (Margarita Levieva) will be returning to the show in one of the episodes of the second half of season 3. Fans of the series first met Gina in season 1 wherein she was introduced as an assassin and a corporate terrorist who is apparently a very skillful one in her field.

It was also during that episode that Liz Keen (Megan Boone) learned that her husband, Tom (Ryan Eggold), has a double identity. But a more shocking revelation is Tom's past relationship with Gina.

It's not yet known what exactly Gina will be bringing back to the show but it's expected that she will be making some impact to both Tom and Liz especially since the two have an already shaky relationship. Spoilers say that since Gina was not killed as a Blacklister, but was offered a deal by the FBI in exchange for her testimony. This paves the way for her comeback.

Meanwhile, Liz will be facing some big challenges. In the winter finale episode, the FBI finally captured her. This will lead to the next episode which will be dedicated to The Director (David Strathairn), as noted in Cartermatt. According to the source, the plot of the story will center on whether or not Liz can be saved from the Cabal. If ever she will be acquitted, she will have the chance to start her life anew.

Executive producer Jon Bokenkamp spoke to Entertainment Weekly wherein he revealed that the next episode will be a two-parter. He also revealed how Red will take Liz back. "His plan is less about just her safety, and more about leveling the playing field. What the audience is going to see is we've been laying in these breadcrumbs over the past eight episodes, everything from hits against The Cabal to the plan with Marvin Gerard (Fisher Stevens) in the second episode," stated Bokenkamp.

"The Blacklist" will return on Thursday, Jan. 7 on NBC.
