Ryan Eggold is Tom Keen in "The Blacklist", one of the much-awaited crime drama series to premiere its next season on NBC this September. He mentioned in a recent interview that not only will next season be better than the previous one, the first few episodes will be full of revelations that viewers will surely appreciate.

Thrilling and mysterious start with "Esteban"

Eggold revealed that the first episode with a title "Esteban" will start with Tom inside the trunk of a car. He has been captured and has most likely been tied up. To remember, Season 3 ended with a lot of questions for viewers. Eggold said that Season 4 would begin by answering questions, especially about what happened to the baby that Liz and Tom shared. Only when these questions are answered will the next season finally move on to the new plot.

Eggold did not comment if he will be able to get Liz and Agnes back. He said that his character is aware that it is very difficult to take on these challenges, but he is willing to do anything to keep his family together.

Red and Kirk interfering with his plans

The actor mentioned that his character knows that Kirk and Reddington could interfere with his plans, but he said that this is a chance that he is willing to take. In a related report, not only is Tom doing all the work to protect his family, but Liz even faked her death in the final episode of Season 3 just to protect Agnes from Red's manipulative ways.

Actress Megan Boone, who played Liz, complemented Eggold's interview saying that the next season will be more twisted and complicated compared to the other seasons, which were already intense.

A spin-off series for "The Blacklist"

Aside from premiering this September, "The Blacklist" will be having a spin-off series, but there are no announcements on when this will premiere, the exact name of the series, and the cast for it. The only thing known about this spin-off is that it is a follow-up drama on "The Blacklist", which will surely have the similar twisted plot.

Release date for Season 4

Season 4 of "The Blacklist" will be shown on September 22 at NBC.
