'The Blacklist' Season 4 Air Date, Spoilers and Preview: Can Liz Trust Kirk's Word? Red Continues to Look for Liz
Last Thursday, "The Blacklist" returned from its season hiatus, and with it, fans have been bombarded surprises with Liz and Kirk to kick off the season.
Three's a Crowd
For the fans of "The Blacklist," the long wait for the new season has been worth the wait. There is definitely no doubt that the last season ended with a few surprises. First, we learn that Liz (Megan Boone) was actually alive, and Alexander Kirk (Ulrich Thomsen) had claimed to be Liz's real father. With these huge bombshells left, fans are left waiting with what was in store for the Season 4 of "The Blacklist."
Previous reports have stated that the fourth season of "The Blacklist" will reveal more about Liz's past. The character's history would be introducing the past of Red (James Spader) along with it. This means that fans would get a good look at the ominous character of Red. This also means that viewers will get a closer look at his motivations and past experiences.
Liz and Her Father Issues
With Alexander Kirk telling Liz the huge truth bomb of being her real father in the third season finale, Season 4 picked up where it left. Going down the full details, he revealed that he is indeed Constantine Rostova. He then further exposes that he is actually the husband of Katarina Rostova, more widely known as Liz's mother.
We now get to see a darker side of Red here, as it is revealed that he and Katarina had an affair. As a result of the sin, Red had initially mistaken Katarina's child to be his. However, Kirk (now also being Rostova) continues to claim that he is her real father and that Red had just abducted her as a child to exact revenge.
This has now become Kirk's motivation to keep Liz. He told her that he just wants to get his daughter away from Red for doing everything that he did. If this is true though, then fans who have been sensing and clamoring for a romantic relationship between Red and Liz could somehow have their hopes up.
In the promo video for the following episode, called "Mato," we see Red enlisting the help of Tom and the task force to find Liz. He does this by tracking down a bounty hunter who may have knowledge of the next move Kirk is going to make. We also see Liz having trust issues, as she mulls over whether Kirk is telling the truth or not.
To find out what happens to Liz, Red, and the rest of the story arc, watch "The Blacklist" Season 4 as it airs every Thursday at NBC.
