'The Blacklist' Season 5 Episode 3 Spoilers: Tom Considers a Proposition from Red
Red (James Spader) wants his son-in-law to do a particular assignment for him in the upcoming episode of "The Blacklist."
In the episode titled "Miss Rebecca Thrall," the synopsis reveals that Red will be asking Tom (Ryan Eggold) a huge favor. It looks like he needs the help of Liz's (Megan Boone) husband to re-establish his criminal reputation, which is currently in tatters after the FBI refused to acknowledge his part in capturing Blacklisters. Red has been itching to find a solution to this problem, and as he has told Liz, he is willing to do anything to bring back the Task Force's former glory.
A promo for the upcoming episode shows a glimpse of what Red has in mind for both him and Tom. The two are shown kneeling with the police pointing guns at them. It seems like Red has devised a scenario that will involve them getting captured and sent to prison, but Tom looks like he is okay with the plan.
The younger man's agreement may be due to events in the last episode, as Tom was sure that the older man had found out that it was he who stole the suitcase. Tom may then want to keep an eye out for Red in case Liz's old man decides to go after his throat.
Meanwhile, the Task Force has a compelling case to deal with. News of a series of police shootings will reach the FBI. Apparently, there are blacklisters who pretend to be law enforcement officers and go around murdering people. Further investigation will reveal that they are killers for hire.In the trailer, Red and Liz are shown talking about the best possible way to capture the criminals. Does their plan have something to do with Red's escapade with Tom? Elsewhere, Ressler (Diego Klattenhoff) will find himself sidetracked by increasing external pressures.
