'The Blacklist' Season 5 Spoilers: Liz Prioritizes Loyalty to Red Over FBI Work

Liz (Megan Boone) will find herself enjoying work with her father in the upcoming season of "The Blacklist."

The new installment of the NBC series will see Liz back in the FBI while Red struggles to prove to the Bureau that his taskforce is still useful in future missions. The new boss in the FBI does not see the need to work with a criminal. Liz will try to pacify her dad and intends to help out the best way she can.

In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, Boone hinted that her character would have so much fun working with Red that she would choose him over her position as a federal agent.

"Adventures with her dad, Red, get her out of her overly serious life, and she moves Red a little closer to a moral center. Everyone else on The Blacklist Taskforce will ultimately cast dispersions at some point, because her actions as a CI's liaison will sometimes be colored with her allegiance to her father," Boone told EW. "I think what she will do — because of her loyalty to him — surprises her sometimes, but her work means a lot to her. She ultimately wants to be a good agent."

Spoilers for season 5 reveals that so far, Liz has no reason to doubt Red's honesty to her. She really believes that he is her father. There are still speculations, though, that Red may be lying to Liz. For one, the mystery surrounding the valise that he hid from her needs to be exposed. Tom (Ryan Eggold) is expected to deliver it to Liz as per Mr. Kaplan's (Susan Blommaert) orders, but things may not go as planned. Liz's husband is obviously planning something and it may have something to do with launching his own investigation on Red.

Elsewhere, the relationship between Aram (Amir Arison) and Samar (Mozhan Marno) will vastly improve. The trailer showed them finally acting on their feelings and acknowledging their love for each other. In the clip, the two were shown locked in a tight embrace. Aram finally got the courage to pursue her after a long time of incessant worrying.

"The Blacklist" season 5 will premiere on Wednesday, Sept. 27, at 8 p.m. EDT on NBC.
