'The Bold and the Beautiful' Casting News: Former 'General Hospital' Actor Joins Cast as Thorne Forrester

A former "General Hospital" actor is heading to "The Bold and the Beautiful."

Ingo Rademacher is officially on board the CBS daytime drama, according to reports. He will take on the role of Thorne Forrester, a character previously played by Winsor Harmon. News of Rademacher's casting comes just over a month after Rome Flynn, who portrays Zende, announced his departure from the long-running series.

Rademacher, 46, is best known to most soap viewers as Jasper "Jax" Jacks on "General Hospital." He had been a recurring star on the said series since 1996. The last time fans saw Jax was the time Maurice Benard's Sonny orchestrated his deportation. Aside from the ABC drama, Rademacher also played a recurring role on the cop drama "Hawaii Five-0," which is now on its eighth season.

As for what the future holds for Thorne, Rademacher admits he still does not know much about his character at this point. He confirmed that he starts shooting for his scenes in a few weeks, and will appear on an episode airing mid-to-late November. Fans can expect a big storyline for his character since he has signed on for a full-time role.

Rademacher recently caught up with TV Insider and he shared his thoughts about how his arrival could affect Thorne's ex-wife Brooke (Katherine Kelly Lang).

"I've been reading all about the Brooke and Thorne relationship, and there's so much there, but we'll have to see where it goes," he said. "I don't start shooting for a few more weeks and haven't seen any scripts yet. And even if that is the plan, who knows where it winds up?"

He went on to compare his new show with "General Hospital," saying, "When I started on GH, they had an entirely different idea of where to take Jax. He was supposed to be with Rena Sofer's character, Lois. That Sonny-Brenda-Jax triangle was never the plan at all. [Laughs] And now Rena is on B&B [playing Quinn] so, hey, maybe we'll wind up together after all!"

"The Bold and the Beautiful" airs weekdays on CBS.
