'The Conjuring 2' Movie News: Horror Sequel to Feature Skepticism on Real-Life Case Involved in the Movie
The 2013 horror film "The Conjuring" made a surprising performance at the box office, raking in $318,000,141. There is no denying that one of the movie's major selling points is the fact that it was based on real-life events with the cinematic versions of the people involved in the story. After three years, two of the major characters in the movie, Ed and Lorraine Warren, are scheduled to return to the big screen via "The Conjuring 2," which will feature another demonic possession battle of the real-life couple.
However, apart from involving two different real-life demonic possessions, "The Conjuring 2" will also feature the skepticisms involved in the case. In an interview with Yahoo News, the actor who breathes life anew to Ed Warren, Patrick Wilson, disclosed that some uncertainties in the Enfield case will be tackled in the movie as well, saying that such are a major factor in the movie.
In a separate interview as published by Screen Rant, Wilson cited the cases of Jen and Margaret Hodgson who were haunted by the Enfield Poltergeist. He said that, whether the real-life characters were skeptics or not, it was obvious that they needed the help that the real-life Warren couple could offer back then.
"Because it was a long, long process and any of those skeptics, those doubters, when I saw those two women. When Jen and Margaret were here, they were still very much in it. You see how it took a toll on them."
"The Conjuring 2" brings the characters of Wilson and Vera Farmiga, who plays Lorraine Warren, in London to carry on their demonic possession battle expertise in the Enfield Poltergeist. The movie involves the case of two young girls, the Hodgson sisters, haunted by malevolent spirits. Apart from featuring the events in Enfield, "The Conjuring 2" will also feature the equally notorious Amityville, which was already featured in a movie "The Amityville Horror," which was shown in 1979 and another version shown in 2005.
"The Conjuring 2" hits the theaters on June 10.
