'The Elder Scrolls 6' Rumors: Will a New Lead Writer Be Tasked with Telling the Sequel's Story?
New rumor hints Bethesda Game Studios' Emil Pagliarulo may no longer be lead writer for the game
"The Elder Scrolls 6" is still a long way off from being ready, but recently, something spotted by fans could turn out to be hugely important as the game continues its trek through Bethesda Game Studios.
A new video from YouTuber "MrMattyPlays" highlighted something found by fans related to Bethesda Game Studios' Emil Pagliarulo.
Previously, Pagliarulo served as the lead designer and writer for "Fallout 4." However, his Twitter bio now indicates that he has assumed the role of design director.
Plenty of criticism has been thrown in Pagliarulo's way by fans of the "Fallout" series. Some have criticized him for his frequent use of the same story tropes, while there are also those who are unhappy with what in their opinion is his failure to shine the narrative light on more interesting topics.
There are fans who have called for Pagliarulo to be relieved of his lead writer responsibilities before, and the latest rumor could be a sign that this may have just happened.
As GamingBolt noted, Pagliarulo also served as the senior narrative director for "Skyrim," so it is possible that he may no longer have the lead writer role for "The Elder Scrolls 6" as well.
Pagliarulo has garnered praise for his work in the past, so it is not like he ascended to the role of lead writer without reason.
Still, the fans out there who may not have been happy with his more recent work either with "Fallout 4" or "Skyrim" may be open to someone else being given his position, just so those franchises can be handled by someone new.
It is worth noting of course that the folks over at Bethesda Game Studios have yet to confirm any shakeup in their writing department, and with both series believed to be taking extended breaks, it may be a while before anything is made official.
More news about "The Elder Scrolls 6" should be made available soon.
