'The Evil Within 2' Tips and Tricks: How Beginners Get More Chances of Survival
Bethesda Softworks' "The Evil Within 2" was just released last week, and luckily for beginners, various reports that offer tips and guides to increase their chances of survival in the game are now available.
First, players must understand and give importance to the fact that "The Evil Within 2" is designed to be a "survival" game. This means that they will not simply follow a map, aiming and shooting at the enemy. There has to be a strategy. The players need to take some time to think about how best to attack their enemies -- which are mostly composed of supernatural creatures.
As Polygon advised, players just starting in the game cannot tackle multiple zombies simultaneously. They can only defeat one at a time, and this calls for patience and strategy. So to survive, planning every zombie kill would help until the herd gets smaller and smaller.
In a survival game played alone, it should be a given fact that players need to master being undetectable. Otherwise, how could they effectively sneak up on a herd of zombies or a powerful enemy? Players are thus advised to practice stealth in early parts of the game before the instances and opponents become more complicated.
Meanwhile, when players start playing "The Evil Within 2," they will have deal with having limited resources and supplies. This could have been a deliberate move from the developers to intensify the game's survival nature. With that in mind, players are advised to also take time exploring the environment and picking up every collectible item along the way.
Aside from being a survival game, "The Evil Within 2" is an open world title. This means that players have a lot of locations and buildings to explore which could be hiding crates worthy to be collected. However, being careful in every step always helps because one can never know when a zombie will jump out of nowhere.
In relation to collecting items, players are highly advised to smash every box or crate they find because they could be filled with helpful weapons and explosives.
Players should also keep in mind that sometimes running away from the enemy is the smartest move, especially if they become too much to handle. This also does not mean leaving a mission behind. Players must remember that enemies are designed to run after them, so they can trick the undead by running and leading them to a pre-made trap.
At the beginning of the game, players could only count on stabbing their enemies. However, as they collect items and weapons, shooting monsters became a possibility as well. Either way, players are advised to keep on stabbing or shooting until a zombie or a monster gives loot -- this also ensures that they are dead for real.
"The Evil Within 2" is now available on PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
