'The Fast and the Furious 9' Cast News, Spoilers: Jordana Brewster Returning

"The Fast and the Furious 9" will feature a familiar face.

Vin Diesel has confirmed that Jordana Brewster will return for the final two films of the franchise as Mia Toretto after missing out on "The Fate of the Furious."

The actor confirmed her return to "The Fast and the Furious 9" and "The Fast and the Furious 10" during a Facebook Live from the set of a "top secret" film he is filming with her who appeared on the video as well.

Mia was absent in the eighth film since her character was mostly connected to Brian O'Connor played by the late Paul Walker. Thankfully, it looks like she will be back.

The same cannot be said yet for Michelle Rodriguez, who plays the role of Letty in the series. The actress expressed several times her frustration for lack of female empowerment in the franchise and threatens that she might not take part in future projects if it continues to be that way.

She told TMZ last month:

My path is about female empowerment, and if I'm feeling a little stagnant in that area in what I'm doing for a living, then I'm gonna have to move on.

However, it looks like there are adjustments being made with Mia brought back at the start.

Diesel also revealed that Justin Lin, who directed majority of the "The Fast and the Furious" films, will be back to direct the final two installments of the long-running series:

You wanted 9 and 10 to be incredible. We've heard your concerns about the saga and where it needs to arrive to in its final chapters. And the crowd goes wild, it's Justin Lin!

There has been drama in the past few weeks during the development for "The Fast and the Furious 9" with Tyrese Gibson ranting about how Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson is delaying the production due to a spinoff focused on his character Luke Hobbs.
