'The Flash,' 'Arrow' Spoilers: The CW Adds New Cast Members to DC Comic Series
The CW made several additions to their DC Comics-inspired television series "The Flash" and "Arrow" this week.
While "The Flash" will make its series premiere this fall, "Arrow" is entering its third season. In the first casting news release, Kelly Frye of "Rake" will guest-star on "The Flash" as Bette San Souci, a bomb disposal expert destined to become the villainous Plastique, according to E! Online. The character has the ability to turn any object into an explosive device. She will make her first appearance in the fifth episode of the season.
Alternately, "Arrow" announced the casting of J.R. Ramirez who will play Wildcat on the third season of the televisions series. Ramirez is best known for his role on "Emily Owens. The actor's "Arrow" character Wildcat is described as a former boxer with a mysterious past who now runs a gym for underprivileged youths, according to Variety. Furthermore, Wildcat will have a huge effect on Laurel Lance's story arc.

Ramirez is not the first new actor to join "Arrow" season three. "Superman Returns" star Brandon Routh was hired as a season regular in the role of Ray Palmer, also known as The Atom, according to TVLine. The character is described as a scientist and inventor that will have an unexpected yet mysterious role in the lives of Oliver and Felicity.
Meanwhile, "The Flash" is a spin-off of "Arrow" and stars Grant Gustin as Barry Allen, a police scientist who acquired supernatural speed after being struck by lightning. The cast also includes Tom Cavanagh as S.T.A.R. Labs boss Harrison Wells and Candice Patton in the role of Iris West- Barry's quick-witted best friend. Iris is also the daughter of Barry's father figure, CCPD Detective West, portrayed by "Law & Order" star Jesse L. Martin. A new trailer for "The Flash" revealed a humorous take on the new series.
"The Flash premieres on The CW on Oct. 7, while "Arrow" season three starts Oct. 8.
