'The Flash' News, Update: What Fans Should Expect of Iris When Season 2 Begin?
As the premiere for the second season of the CW's popular superhero TV drama series "The Flash" nears, more and more questions are being asked as to what the fans should expect when the show returns to the small screen.
An exclusive TV scoop from TV Line's Matt Webb Mitovich revealed that Candice Patton's character, Iris West, will continue her job as an investigative reporter. Furthermore, she will team up with Barry Allen (Grant Gustin) and the rest of the S.T.A.R. Labs people in Season 2.
"She has a really cool job, and she's going to be standing on her own two feet a bit more," executive producer Gabrielle Stanton told TV Line. "She's definitely going to be part of Team Flash more this season, and we're definitely going to see more of her work life. We're going to see her generate stories and be really proactive."
The EP additionally told the publication that followers of the show won't see a depressed and debilitated Iris who, in the Season 1 finale, lost her newly-wed husband, Eddie Thorne (Rick Cosnett).
"She's struggling with the loss [of Eddie], but instead of letting it get her down, she's going to use it to become the woman that she knows Eddie would have wanted her to be," Stanton said (via TV Line).
Another random teaser was also included in the TV scoop this time mentioning the newcomer of the show, Teddy Sears. When asked if Sears will only be recurring on Season 2 or will be appearing as a series regular, TV Line confirmed that "Sears is recurring as the first speedster, Jay Garrick."
For those who missed it, the character's presence was briefly hinted in Season 1 finale when The Flash successfully opened the time passage.
"The Flash" Season 2 is expected to premiere this October 6 on The CW. Stay tuned for more updates.
