'The Flash' Premiere Date, Spoilers: October 7, 2014 - The Arrow Gives Flash Some Advice

"The Flash" is an upcoming American television series developed by Greg Berlanti, Andrew Kreisberg and Geoff Johns, and is scheduled to air on The CW channel on Oct. 7 later this year. The series is based on a DC Comics superhero Flash and will be portrayed by Grant Gustin. It will be a spin-off to another superhero television series "Arrow" which exists in the same universe.

The show revolves around the life of Barry Allen, a Central City assistant police forensic investigator with a troubled past. Barry witnessed his mother's murder when he was a child and to make matters worse, his father was wrongly accused. With his parents out of the picture, he is taken in by Detective West and his family.

Entering adulthood, he becomes a brilliant, yet socially awkward, forensic scientist. His obsession to his mother's murder leads him to Harrison Well's particle accelerator. When the accelerator causes an explosion, Barry is struck by lighting causing him to go into a coma. When he regains his consciousness, he discovers that he has gained the ability to move at superhuman speeds and the Flash is born.

Flash uses his supernatural powers to protect Central City from criminals, with the help of some close friends who know of his secret.

Still, Barry is a novice superhero and still needs advice with the whole "protecting the innocent" business. Luckily, there's one other superhero in the world and that is the Arrow, also unknown as Oliver Queen. In the trailer for the series, Queen gives Barry some advice on how to be a better person, if not a better superhero.
