'The Flash' Season 2 Cast News, Spoilers: Series Star Dishes Big Details On Character's Past

The CW's hit superhero drama TV series "The Flash" Season 2 is currently on a hiatus and won't be back until next week. The long wait, however, will all be worth it because when the show returns to the small screen, it will finally unveil the true story of Zoom.

Spoiler alert for those who are not updated with the events, Barry Allen's (Grant Gustin) trust has once again been tricked. This time around, it is Jay Garrick (Teddy Sears), who Team Flash has previously believed to be the original speedster, Crimson Comet.

In "Trajectory," everyone in STAR Labs was shocked to finally confirm their hunch that Jay is actually Zoom.

In an interview, Sears told Entertainment Weekly that Hunter Zolomon or Zoom really has a similarity with Barry's origin story.

"We're going to see what happened to Hunter as a child look almost exactly like what happened to Barry when he was a child. One man went one way and one man went the other. The template was set at a very early age for both characters. Hunter goes the opposite way that Barry goes; that's what I can tease about where it all began…" he told the media outlet.

The conversation later on touched on the romantic issue between Garrick/Zoom and Caitlin Snow (Panabaker). He revealed to EW that their thing is "absolutely" genuine. In fact, that is something that series executive Andrew Kreisberg wanted to happen in the first place.

"While there were games being played on all the other members of S.T.A.R. Labs, what he felt for Caitlin was the real deal," he confirmed to the publication.

As for how exactly Zoom's backstory will unfold, fans will have to find out for themselves this Tuesday, Apr 19 with Episode 18 called "Versus Zoom."

The Futon Critic's synopsis for the segment says that Barry will once again open the breach to catch Zoom. Harry (Tom Cavanagh), meanwhile, will express disagreement with his plan. Later, however, he will reveal to the Scarlet Speedster that Cisco (Carlos Valdes) really has the power to re-open the breach.
