'The Flash' Season 2 Episode 4 Recap: A New Firestorm, Iris Finds Out About Wally, Alt-Earth's Dr. Wells Appears
In the previous episode of The CW's "The Flash," so many things were happening all at once, according to an episode review in Forbes. Team Flash finally has a new Firestorm, while Iris deals with her mother and her recent revelation that she has a brother named Wally. Barry Allen as The Flash, in the meantime, meets a formidable enemy, King Shark, and gets rescued by no other than Dr. Harrison Wells.
The episode titled "Fury of the Firestorm" appropriately introduced a new Firestorm in the person of Jefferson Jackson, otherwise known as Jax. He replaces Ronnie Raymond, the first Firestorm, who previously died, so fans will be seeing more of Jax in the coming episodes. During the episode, Team Flash also needed to deal with Henry Hewitt who was feeling a little bad about his not being able to take on the role of Firestorm. Hewitt was a scientist working at STAR labs and was originally chosen to be Firestorm. In this episode, however, he succumbed to his "dark" side so he had to be taken care of by Barry and his team.
Iris, on the other hand, is dealing with her estranged mother, who recently showed up after discovering that she was dying. More importantly, she is trying to grasp her mother's revelation that she has a brother named Wally and as it turns out, is also her father's son.
The other interesting character who showed up in this episode is Dr. Harrison Wells. What is interesting is that Dr. Wells is not from the present world, but is in fact from alt-Earth or Earth-2. It is not apparent whether he is a good guy or a bad guy, as he is shown stealing a weapon of some sort from Mercury Labs in the episode.
When the Flash encounters a formidable foe known as King Shark, who is a gigantic meta-human-shark, and is almost choked to death by it, Dr. Wells comes to his rescue using the stolen weapon. Barry finds out who it was who helped him when he caught up with him. In the following episodes, fans will likely find out which side Wells will take, if he indeed will take a side.
"The Flash" airs every Tuesday at The CW.
