'The Flash' Season 3 Episode 19: Julian Shares Worries About Caitlin to Barry

Julian (Tom Felton) does not regret curing Caitlin (Danielle Panabaker), no matter what the others say, in the upcoming episode of "The Flash."

In the episode titled "The Once and Future Flash," the promo shows a vindictive Killer Frost going after Barry (Grant Gustin). He appears to have traveled to the future, but all he will see there are death and destruction. Killer Frost is shown taunting him, asking the red speedster who could have caused such chaos in that world. Barry will also encounter his future self. Future Barry seems to have given up on life. His hair is longer and he does not wish to help the other Barry with his mission.

Last episode, Caitlin flatlined due to the injuries she sustained from Abra Kadabra (David Dastmalchian). Team Flash worked hard to revive her, but their combined effort was for naught. Nothing worked. Julian then made a monumental decision. He grabbed Caitlin's necklace, the one that kept her metahuman powers in check, and pulled it off. The effect was immediate. Caitlin opened her eyes, her Killer Frost genes curing her.

Instead of commending Julian for his actions, the others rounded on him, castigating what he did. Cisco (Carlos Valdes) emphasized that Caitlin never wanted to become her villain alter ego. He said she would have chosen to die instead of unleashing her dark powers.

Felton told TVLine that his character is extremely confused. Julian genuinely wanted to believe in Caitlin's innate goodness, that even without the pendant, she would never embrace her dark side. Now that he feels like an outcast, he will likely share his burden with his first friend in the team – Barry.

"For a long time, Julian thought that he'd been brought into the group or his skills and for his assets, and then he realized that maybe she's had her own prerogative the whole time. So, yeah, he was definitely feeling a bit conflicted with his feelings, whether he really belongs in the group and whether he's able to believe Caitlin," Felton said.

"The Flash" season 3 episode 19 airs Tuesday, April 25 at 8 p.m. EDT on The CW.
