'The Flash' Season 3 News and Updates: 'Harry Potter' Star Tom Felton Joins Cast as Series Regular; Discover Draco Malfoy's New Character
Felton to Play a CSI Investigator Who Will Look into Series Main Star Barry Allen
Actor Tom Felton, best known as Draco Malfoy in the "Harry Potter" series, is expected to join the cast of "The Flash" Season 3 as series regular Julian Dorn.
Who Is Julian Dorn?
Tom Felton was recruited to be part of the famous CW superhero show for its third season. He will play the character of Dorn, who is a crime scene investigator for the Central City Police Department. He will look into Barry Allen as suspicions lead him to think that he is hiding something.
The famous television series tells the story of a DC comics character named after Allen (Grant Gustin) who became The Flash when he was hit by lightning during a strong storm. He survived the accident and became extremely fast since he was gifted with the superpower.
Season 3: Flashpoint
With the upcoming season's adoption of a Flashpoint storyline, Hollywood Reporter claimed that Dorn could be the new "Barry" for this timeline. It is expected that many things will change because of the Flashpoint, and Barry's place could be replaced by Felton's character.
There is also the theory that the "Harry Potter" star could play an existing character with a different name. Felton will appear in the all-new season of the TV series, which is set to begin on October 4 and will air every Tuesday.
It was added in the Entertainment Weekly writeup that Flashpoint followed The New 52 launch of DC Comics which had storylines for its 52 titles.
Felton's Other Shows and Movies
The young actor is not a newbie in front of the cameras since he played Draco Malfoy in the "Harry Potter" series, which began with the 2001 movie "The Philosopher's Stone" and continued until 2011 with the final "Deathly Hallows Part II." He acted alongside Daniel Radcliffe and Emma Watson. Felton also appeared during the first season of "Murder in the First" and other shows such as "Labyrinth" and "Full Circle."
Missing Draco
In an earlier interview, BBC said that Felton missed playing Harry Potter's rival in the magical series that made a name for years worldwide, especially among the youth.
"I miss him greatly. I certainly enjoy the darker side of characters," he noted. "Equally I just enjoy playing someone who isn't like me."
