'The Flash' Season 4 Spoilers, Cast: Captain Cold Leaves as Two New Faces Enter
Fans will see the last of "The Flash" and "Legends of Tomorrow" fan-favorite Captain Cold (Wentworth Miller) in upcoming episodes of both shows.
Miller broke the news on Instagram, announcing that he is currently in the middle of filming his "final episodes" for the two comic book television adaptations.
Grateful—now and in advance—to a pair of talented casts and hardworking crews... Thank you...
I've had a tremendous time playing this character. It's been an opportunity, an education, and a f—ing blast.
Miller first joined the Arrowverse as Leonard Snart aka Captain Cold in the fourth episode of the first season of "The Flash" titled "Going Rogue." He quickly endeared himself to fans despite being a villain.
Ever since, he has popped back in and out of the show, initially to mess with and dupe Barry (Grant Gustin), and in his later appearances, to help the speedster.
Captain Cold was also an original member of the Waverider crew in "Legends of Tomorrow" and was killed off in the end of the first season, but returned in the second season as part of the Legion of Doom. It will be interesting to see what his send-off in the DC Comics show will look like.
While the Arrowverse is losing Miller, it is also gaining a new face with "Law and Order" alum Richard Brooks tapped to play the role of Iron Heights prison warden Gregory Wolfe in a multi-episode story arc.
The character first appeared in "The Flash" season 4, episode 2, "Mixed Signals," in which he assured Barry and Joe (Jesse L. Martin) to keep Kilgore behind bars. Fans knew he was bound to return when he flashed a sinister smile as he looked at the metahuman that hinted of a brewing scheme.
Danny Trejo is also reprising his role as Breacher in "The Flash" season 4 while "Longmire" star Katee Sackhoff debuts as Amunet in tonight's episode "Girls Night Out."
