'The Flash' Season Finale may Change the Arrowverse

After the shocking finale of "The Flash" season 2, fans can expect a lot of changes in the "Arrow" universe.

With the chaos brought by Zoom, Barry, played by Grant Gustin, was seen travelling to the past to keep his mother from dying. However, this season's finale showed that his actions will soon take it toll.

The upcoming season of "The Flash" is expected to explore a new concept in the timeline presented by "The Flash." EW said that fans will soon encounter "Flashpoint" which is a concept presented in the DC Comics. "The Flashpoint" was a five issue comic written by Geoff Johns, who is also producing the series.

The alternate universe presented a setting where many DC heroes such as Superman and The Flash did not exist. It showed Wonder Woman and Aquaman against each other. It also introduced Batman as Thomas Wayne. In the comic, it was up to Barry to fix the timeline.

However, he will face some issues since he does not have his powers anymore. The possibility of "Flashpoint" occurring in the next season was hinted in the finale. In addition, fans are wondering just how this will alter the Arrowverse.

There are rumors that "Arrow" will also adjust to the storyline of "The Flash," but this has yet to be revealed. Aside from the "Flashpoint," there are speculations that the upcoming story will bring more of Supergirl into the small screens. Since "Supergirl" switched networks, fans believe that this will bring more crossover episodes between the two shows.

Even Gustin shared his excitement for Supergirl's presence on "The Flash," saying that the two of them would be good together. He said, "We had a really fun dynamic and I bet next year, there's probably more crossovers than we've ever had."

With Supergirl expected to play a role in the upcoming season, fans are expecting to see "Flashpoint" connect Supergirl into the Arrowverse as well.
