'The Fosters' Season 4 Renewed or Cancelled? Series Will Go for a New Season
Good news to all the fans of the family drama television series "The Fosters." The show has been renewed for season 4 by ABC Family, which means more of the atypical family's stories will be unveiled.
As noted in Deadline, ABC Family's Executive Vice President for Programming and Development Karey Burke said, "We have so many more stories to tell about 'The Fosters' family." She added, "These incredible characters have come into our lives and touched so many – from Stef and Lena's wedding to the adoptions of Callie and Jude." According to TV Guide, she also said that she was looking forward to "more of the groundbreaking storytelling from this creative team."
The show has been renewed ahead of the blended-family drama series' season 3 winter premiere which is scheduled on Jan. 25. Currently, "The Fosters" is on hiatus after it aired its mid-season finale episode. It left off with some developments between Callie (Maia Mitchell) and Brandon (David Lambert). They finally gave in to their feelings in the season finale, admitting that they love each other.
But things will not be as easy as it seems as the two will legally become brother and sister upon the return of the show as Callie's adoption has already been finalized. According to The Hollywood Reporter, showrunner Peter Paige said that Brandon and Callie are star-crossed lovers and they will continue to "cross those stars." Fans will need to watch out for how they will deal with their feelings and how their family will react to it.
"The Fosters" tells the story of a multi-ethnic family mix of adopted and biological teenage kids who are being looked after and raised by two moms, Stef and Lena Adams Foster. Their children are Brandon, the biological son of Stef from a previous marriage; Mariana and Jesus, the adopted twins; and the newly adopted siblings, Callie and her half-brother Jude.
