'The Fosters' Season 4 Episode 16: AJ Gets Real with Callie

Callie (Maia Mitchell) will get no love from AJ (Tom Williamson) when she shares her fears of being sent to prison in the upcoming episode of "The Fosters."

In the episode titled "The Long Haul," the promo shows the couple talking about Callie's upcoming trial. Her father, Robert (Kerr Smith), previously told her that she must attend the court summons on her felony case. Even after hiring top-notch attorneys to handle the situation, Robert failed to spare his daughter from the traumatic experience. When Callie shares her thoughts with her boyfriend, she will be surprised to see antagonism rather than sympathy coming from him.

AJ is clearly angry at Callie for her continued investigation of Mrs. Johnson's murder. He previously told her to stop and mind her own safety. It was because of Callie's determination to find the killer that she got involved in a car accident. When AJ tells her she can only blame herself for everything that has been happening to her, Callie feels like she has been punched in the face. Clearly, the two need to sort out their problems or else, they are heading for splitsville.

Meanwhile, the synopsis (according to TV Guide) reveals that Emma (Amanda Leighton) is coming clean to Jesus (Noah Centineo). She will reportedly write a very honest letter, explaining her side of the story. Jesus has accused Emma of flirting with his brother, Brandon (David Lambert). He does not know that his girlfriend had an abortion and that it was Brandon who accompanied her to the hospital. The teaser shows, though, that Jesus is not entirely wrong about his suspicions about Emma.

She is revealed to be insisting to Brandon that they have something going on between them. Brandon's expression when Emma reveals her true feelings looks like he is disgusted with her. Viewers get the feeling that he does not wish to be involved with her drama. Will Brandon tell Jesus about Emma's actions?

"The Fosters" season 4 episode 16 will air on Tuesday, March 14, at 8 p.m. ET on Freeform.
