'The Fosters' Season 4 Episode 17 Spoilers: AJ Draws the Line on Relationship With Callie
AJ (Tom Williamson) is close to giving up on his relationship with Callie (Maia Mitchell) in the upcoming episode of "The Fosters."
In the episode titled "Diamond in the Rough," the synopsis (according to TV Guide) reveals that AJ has had enough of her obsession on who killed Mrs. Johnson. In the last episode, Troy (Levi Fiehler) caught them spying on him. He threatened to call the police and accused Callie and AJ of harassment. Although AJ loves Callie and supports her pursuit of justice, he is getting tired of constantly following her around. He also complains that she has no time for their relationship and seems to take it for granted that he will always be there to understand her.
Mitchell previously hinted to TVLine that AJ and Callie might break up soon. According to her, Callie just cannot love AJ the way he deserves to be loved. She said that AJ is a loyal and loving boyfriend, but Callie could not appreciate that because she had different priorities. Her lack of attention might end up pushing AJ away, and eventually, he would give up.
"He's really patient and really forgiving, whereas Callie is so preoccupied with this whole mess that she's found herself in, I don't think she's able to give that much of herself away. So I'm not sure it's an imbalance of love. I think there's really mutual love there. It's just about where she's at in her life. I don't think she's in a place where she can give all her energy to AJ — definitely not as much as he has available for her," Mitchell said in the TVLine interview.
Aside from the AJ problem, Callie will have to face the fact that she will be tried in court for her felony case. Her father, Robert (Kerr Smith), and his attorneys failed to save Callie from the traumatic experience. There is even a good chance that Callie will be imprisoned.
"The Fosters" season 4 episode 17 will air on Tuesday, March 21 at 8 p.m. EDT on Freeform.
