The Fosters' Season 4B Release Date, Plot Spoilers & Updates: Callie to Fail in Helping Kyle Get Out of Prison, Jude to Become a Pot Addict?
The intense and moving summer finale of the fourth season of "The Fosters" showcases the lives of the Adams-Foster children in jeopardy. What will happen to Jude (Hayden Byerly) and Callie (Maia Mitchell) when the Season 4B of the Freeform family drama returns?
Jude to Get Addicted With Pot?
The midseason ender "Collateral Damage" suggested the possibility that Jude will stage a full-on rebellion in the upcoming episodes. The finale unveiled that the youngest Adams-Foster child has been smoking weed with his boyfriend Noah.
Peter Paige, executive director of the LGBT-themed family drama, told TV Guide that fans should not worry because Jude's rebellious acts will not turn into a pot addiction story. He said that Jude is a teenager who is exploring and testing boundaries to figure out who he really is.
Paige also explained to EW why they incorporated Jude's pot issue in the storyline of the fourth season. He stated that they are only honoring Jude as a teenager. He reasoned out that almost all kids turn a little bit rebellious, mouthy and self-actualized when they reach the teenage years.
Will Callie Succeed in Helping Kyle?
Callie risked herself throughout the season in an attempt to prove that her former foster brother Kyle (Adam Irigoyen) is innocent. The summer finale left with Callie in great danger. She was trapped in a car with the possible true murderer.
Paige downplayed the possibility that Callie will be murdered. He shared to TVLine that Callie is smart, resilient and resourceful. He added that she should figure out something to change the dangerous situation.
The executive producer also hinted that the upcoming episodes will see Callie succeed in helping Kyle. He said that Callie succeeded in helping others in the past and she might also become victorious in proving Kyle's innocence.
Season 4B: Episode 11 Spoilers
The fourth season of the hit family drama will return to Freeform in spring 2017 but there is no official date yet. Aside from teasing the fate of Jude and Callie, Page also hinted what will happen to Jesus (Noah Centineo), Brandon (David Lambert) and Mariana (Cierra Ramirez) in the upcoming episodes.
According to Paige, Jesus will escape death but he might become a changed person after the incident. Meanwhile, Mariana will continue to face the consequences of her past decisions and drug addiction.
On the other hand, Brandon will be totally ejected from Julliard after the discovery of his SAT cheating scandal. Paige said that the eldest Adams-Foster child might reapply again, but the second shot will not take place in the remaining episodes of the fourth season.
