'The Fosters' Season 5 Spoilers: There Is Still Hope for Brandon and Grace

Brandon (David Lambert) is determined to fight for his and Grace's (Meg DeLacy) love in the second half of the current season of "The Fosters."

According to executive producer Joanna Johnson, something may happen to derail the plan of Grace's mother regarding their departure from town. In the show's previous episode, viewers saw the mom packing up Grace's things. While it looked like there was no changing her mind, the EP said that there was still hope. Brandon and Grace will still have some time to spend together and prove that what they feel for each other is real.

"She's supposed to be heading home, and Brandon certainly isn't going to move up to Marin to be there with her. But something may come up that would stall her departure and give Brandon and Grace some more time together. They have a genuine love that's budding," the EP teased in an interview with TVLine

While Brandon and Grace will continue to worry about the future of their relationship, Mariana (Cierra Ramirez) will fear for her life. Spoilers reveal that her ex-boyfriend, the mentally unstable Nick (Louis Hunter), will be back in the new installment. During the midseason finale, Mariana received a suspicious text from an unknown number. It turned out to be Nick, who claimed that he knew something about the controversy at the Anchor Beach Charter School.

Johnson hinted that Mariana should not trust her former boyfriend that fast. After all, he caused problems for her last time. When Mariana broke up with Nick, he went crazy and took a bunch of school kids hostage. He also continued to stalk her even though he was in house arrest. Whatever Nick's motives are in approaching her again, it will not be good.

"That's the question: Is he manipulating her? Is he just trying to find a way to get her back in his life? And what lessons has Mariana learned about when you have a stalker in life who's baiting you? Do you take the bait or not?" the EP shared with TVLine.

"The Fosters" season 5B is expected to air next year.
