'The Gifted' Season 1 Spoilers: X-Men, Magneto Will Be Tackled

"The Gifted" season 1 is holding its ground in the ratings on FOX following three episode airings. The show is doing well so far despite none of the familiar X-Men characters showing up.

"The Gifted," a spinoff of the "X-Men" movie franchise on TV, however, will tackle what's happening to the X-Men and the Brotherhood of Mutants in later episodes. In particular, it will explain the connection between Magneto, one of the most popular characters in the franchise, and "The Gifted's" Polaris/Lorna (Emma Dumont).

"The Gifted" creator Matt Nix told TV Guide that she will learn she's Magneto's daughter this season. Magneto, however, won't necessarily appear on the show thus viewers should not expect Michael Fassbender or Ian McKellen, who both played the villain in the movie versions of "X-Men," as guests in the series.

"I think that's actually a big part of her struggle this season specifically and going into next season," Nix said. "I think, she's longing for a family, but she doesn't know if that's the family she wants to be a part of, or if that makes her bad or not."

Nix also hinted there will be clues as to why the other X-Men and Brotherhood haven't been seen in the show.

"Down the road some of those questions are definitely going to be answered because it changes the whole world that they're living in," Nix said.

Meanwhile, Andy Strucker (Percy Hynes White) is slowly emerging as the mutant to watch out for in "The Gifted." He's becoming angrier at humans who think their kind should be killed and it looks like he's leaning towards the same ideology as Magneto and the Brotherhood.

They believe that humans and mutants can never co-exist. They also believe that mutants have to stick together and defend themselves even if it means hurting or killing people.

Will Andy eventually become a terrorist like Magneto and the Brotherhood? Tune in to find out on "The Gifted," which airs Monday nights at 9:00 p.m. EST on FOX.
