'The Good Dinosaur' Gets a New Trailer, Reason For Director Changes Revealed

Pixar has just released this week a new trailer for the upcoming 3D computer-animated comedy adventure film "The Good Dinosaur." Through the teaser, the kind of storytelling quality and animation that people have come to expect from Pixar has been unveiled and it didn't fail to impress many as it showed a very promising teaser. From the high quality animation to the stunning still images that have been released, the movie is worth waiting for.

According to Metro UK, "The Good Dinosaur" movie follows a storyline that imagines the fate of the world if the dinosaurs had not been wiped out. It was shown in the trailer as well wherein an asteroid missed hitting the Earth millions of years ago.

The story mainly focuses on the characters Arlo, the dinosaur, and Spot, the young cave-child. After being washed away in a disastrous flood that caused him to be separated from his family, all that Arlo ever wanted was to find his way back home. But along the way he meets a boy and everything from there changes for the vulnerable dinosaur.

Coming Soon wrote that the story of the movie ultimately "plays out as a western survival tale starring a boy and his dog." Only this time, "the boy is a dinosaur and the dog is a boy," as described by the director, Pete Sohn.

Speaking of director, Cinema Blend reported that back in 2013, the production of the new animated movie underwent a bump as the initial director Bob Peterson was removed from the project. It was then placed under Pixar veteran Sohn. The reason for the changes in the production was revealed by Sohn himself during an interview with Eric Eisenberg of Cinema Blend.

In his interview, Sohn said that Peterson initiated the concept in 2009. They worked together to develop it but "then the story got really complicated." That's when they asked the "Partly Cloudy" director to take over. "So they asked me, because I had been with the story already for a while, please take over and find a new take to it," stated Sohn.

The movie will feature the voice of newcomer Raymond Ochoa, as well as the voices of Jeffrey Wright, Anna Paquin, Steve Zahn, A.J. Buckley and Sam Elliot. It will arrive in theaters on Nov. 25.
