'The Good Doctor' Episode 3 Spoilers: Shaun and Claire Race Against the Clock
"The Good Doctor" is enjoying a great deal of success in its debut season, even as early as the third episode. Medical drama at its finest continues this week as the show follows Dr. Shaun Murphy (Freddie Highmore) and his struggles as a high-functioning savant on the autism spectrum.
The outline of the third episode of "The Good Doctor" is out, and this Monday sees Shaun and Dr. Clair Brown (Antonia Thomas) racing against the clock with the life of a donated organ in the balance, according to The Futon Critic.
The two doctors are rushing back to St. Bonaventure Hospital with their precious cargo, an entire donated liver. It's when the realization hits Shaun: blood residue in the liver is already starting to clot during the organ's stay in the ice bath. He takes the organ out and feels it for lumps, as Dr. Clair looks on in curiosity.
Clair initially had trouble getting Shaun to speak his mind, but she presses on, and it pays off. They at a conclusion: they have to go to work on the liver right there in the car before it expires.
Will Shaun and Clair be able to communicate well enough to pull off this medical stunt, viewers are about to find out this Monday.
Elsewhere, Dr. Neil Melensez (Nicholas Gonzales) and Dr. Jared Kalu (Chuku Modu) has a problem patient on their hands. The patient in their care is holding something back from them, and it could cost him his life.
Will the two doctors be able to wrangle the truth out of their patient, in time to give him the life-saving surgery that he needs? Fans better tune in to find out.
The video below shows a sneak peek of the third episode of "The Good Doctor," as Shaun realizes that they need to operate on an organ they were transporting via car, right there and then.
The show returns on Monday at 10 p.m. EDT on ABC.
