'The Good Place' Season 2 Spoilers: Michael Goes Through An Existential Crisis
The upcoming episode of "The Good Place" season 2 will see Michael (Ted Danson) going through an existential crisis.
The synopsis of the next episode, titled "Existential Crisis," states that Tahani (Jameela Jamil) will hold a dinner party to impress guests. However, like many other things in the Bad Place, things will soon fall apart. To save the night, Eleanor (Kristen Bell) and Jason (Manny Jacinto) will both do whatever it takes to keep things on track.
A sneak peek into the new episode has also been released. The clip, titled "The Dangers of a Philosophy Overdose," finds Michael in a tizzy. It opens with Tahani's dinner party all ready to go, with decorations and everything else in place. She lets out her usual brand of arrogance. But, before she can celebrate, Eleanor and Chidi (William Jackson Harper) enter with Michael in tow.
Jason initially misunderstands the situation, but Eleanor quickly fills him and Tahani in on what exactly happened. Eleanor says that Michael has had a "philosophy overdose" and is going through an existential crisis. She tasks them with cheering him up. Chidi attempts to do so by drawing his attention to the party, but Michael is unconvinced.
"We're all just corpses who haven't yet begun to decay," Michael says in a depressing tone. Eleanor replies by taking a handful of balloons and showing them to him.
"The Good Place" is already halfway through its second season, and fans can look forward to more of advanced Janet. This much was teased by D'Arcy Carden, who plays the robotic assistant.
"That seems like a good assumption," Carden told Slate of Janet's advancements playing a bigger role this season. "The places we go in this season is astounding to me. This group of writers and [creator] Mike Schur really are super-geniuses."
"The Good Place" season 2 airs Thursdays, at 8:30 p.m. EDT on NBC.
