'The Good Place' Season 2 Spoilers: Michael Tries to Fix Janet Before the Neighborhood Collapses
The upcoming episode of "The Good Place" season 2 will see Michael (Ted Danson) dealing with a technical issue.
The synopsis of the next episode, titled "Janet and Michael," states that Michael will have to rush to solve a problem with Janet (D'Arcy Carden), whose glitch may affect the entire Neighborhood in a particularly large way.
A teaser trailer for the new episode has also been released, though it does not reveal much about what is to come. It does, however, feature some clips from previous episodes. But since it does not contain scenes from the upcoming episode, fans will have to wait to see what kind of chaos will happen in the Neighborhood because of Janet's glitch.
It can be recalled that Janet started experiencing glitches in the previous episode, titled "The Trolley Problem." While the main plot of the episode focused on Chidi (William Jackson Harper) educating Eleanor (Kristen Bell) and Michael about the famous ethical dilemma, the subplot saw Tahani (Jameela Jamil) and Jason (Manny Jacinto) getting couples' counseling from Janet.
Tahani and Jason have been sleeping together for quite some time now. And, while Jason wanted to go public with their relationship, Tahani felt ashamed of her connection to him. During counseling, Janet started exhibiting strange actions as a result of a glitch. She believes that it is due to her behaving in a way she was not designed to. However, it is also possible that Janet is reacting negatively towards Tahani and Jason's relationship.
As fans know, season 1 saw Jason and Janet develop a somewhat romantic relationship and they even got married. However, Michael rebooted everyone and caused Jason to forget he ever even had any feelings for the supposedly emotionless virtual assistant. And even though Janet was also rebooted, creator Mike Schur previously told Variety that it is possible that there may still be something there.
"When Jason's wiped clean, that's it, he doesn't remember having any emotional feelings for Janet," he said. "The question remains what is it like for Janet, obviously, because she's not exactly a human being. Janet ostensibly has been rebooted again, and she shouldn't have any memory of him either. But that is something that we'll get into later in the season."
"The Good Place" season 2 airs Thursdays at 8:30 p.m. EDT on NBC.
