'The Good Wife' Season 6 News: Episode 6 Recap, Episode 7 Plot Revealed

Last Sunday's episode of "The Good Wife" saw Alicia struggle as she tries to pretend to be someone she's not, all for the sake of politics.

In the episode, titled "Old Spice," finds Alicia and Elsbeth teaming up against U.S. State Attorney Josh Perotti as he goes after Elsbeth's client, the CEO of J-Serve. The episode also featured Elisbeth and Josh's attraction to each other based on their little quirks and signature scents. It turns out that Elsbeth wears baby lotion and is deathly afraid of sidewalk grates, while Josh wears Old Spice. Later, the two have an intimate moment on her desk. The next day, as he prepares to go back to D.C., Elsbeth asks him to "call me, maybe."

Meanwhile, Alicia learns that one of her pit stops in her campaign includes "kissing the ring" of religious leader and talk show host Pastor Jeremiah Easton. She is clearly conflicted about this as she thinks of herself as an atheist. She turns to her daughter, Grace, who is a Christian.

"I don't believe in God, Grace. I don't feel the need," said Alicia.

When Grace asks her mother why, she offers her a one word answer: "Politics."

Later, Alicia wows Pastor Easton, and he mentions Grace's Christianity. On the way home, Alicia glumly tells Marissa, who has been hired as her right hand/body woman, "I don't like pretending to be something I'm not." She joins Grace's prayer circle with her friends, but she feels guilty for pretending to believe in religion and God, and also for hiding behind her daughter's beliefs to make her more popular to the voters.

Meanwhile, next week's episode of "The Good Wife" will feature David Hyde Pierce in his first major TV appearance since "Frasier" wrapped up. According to Cartermatt, Pierce will be playing a political commentator who may decide to run for office and eventually cause more problems for Alicia.

Here is the official synopsis for season 6, episode 7 of the show titled "Message Discipline":

"While preparing his case against Cary, Finn discovers a potentially devastating piece of evidence, which could have ramifications for Alicia and Peter. Meanwhile, Eli becomes wary when a new prospective candidate emerges in the race for State's Attorney."

"The Good Wife" airs on Sundays at 9 p.m. ET on CBS.
