'The Good Wife' Season 7 Spoilers: Vanessa Williams makes appearance, Alicia Distrusts Eli
"The Good Wife" is due to air on CBS this coming Sunday and already, spoilers have emerged, including a brief scene showing Vanessa Williams' first appearance in the show.
Previously in "The Good Wife," a physician-assisted suicide scenario played out, with Louis Canning (Michael J. Fox) acting in defense of the medical team who supported Alexa (Celeste Arias), a brain cancer patient, in her quest to end her life.
Meanwhile, a teaser for the upcoming Episode 5, titled "Payback," shows Alicia (Julianna Marguilies) informing Eli (Alan Cumming) that she has come to mistrust him. While they have been friends for a long time, with Eli campaigning hard for Peter (Chris Noth), their chummy situation is bound to change when "Payback" airs on Sunday.
"Payback" will also delve more deeply into the ageism issues Howard (Jerry Adler) has been having with Agos, Lockhart & Lee, and audiences may get to see Cary (Matt Czuchry) unleashing his anger at Howard in turn.
Jason (Jeffrey Dean Morgan) is also expected to turn aggressive in a case revolving around a student loan, employing maximum effort and aggressiveness to get the job done as quickly as possible.
Actress Vanessa Williams, who will be playing Courtney Boalt in the November 15 episode titled "Driven," is set to stir things up at Peter's firm, particularly riling Eli up and acting as his love interest in the series.
Also in the November 15 episode, Alicia and Lucca (Cash Jumbo) will be looking at one of Louis' cases involving a test-driving case that has crippled the victim, while Ruth (Margo Martindale) and Eli court Courtney, a self-made businesswoman who has made it to the top, and who is seen as a potential contributor for Peter's campaign.
However, while Eli is after Courtney for his own ends, it appears Courtney has ideas of her own and presents herself as very much her own woman.
"The Good Wife" is set to return to CBS on Sunday, November 1 at 9pm EST.
