'The Good Wife' season 7 spoilers; will feature a real presidential race
The forthcoming season will feature a true-to-life presidential campaign as Peter Florrick (Chris North) will go up against Hilary Clinton for the democratic ticket. The show's executive producer Greg King spoke about the decision to create the parallel between fiction and reality. "The Iowa Caucus happens [on Feb. 1], it's going to happen in our show. We're trying to parallel what's happening on our show with what's happening in reality. The difficult thing for us is we started writing these scripts in June, so you're always kind of guessing where things are going," King concedes. "And we're stunned in politics how things change overnight. We're not sure if Biden will enter the race at this point. We have the ability to ADR some lines in if that's necessary, but we're kind of playing the betting game at this point," he said. Furthermore, he added that the show could always deviate from reality.
The new season will see Alicia in a totally new office, which is in her lovely and humble abode. She will also be sporting a new hairstyle since she has a new wig that can be seen in the on-set photos that Julianna Margulies shared on her Facebook page.
The upcoming season will also see a new character named Willa Eastman (Margo Martindale), a vivacious, intelligent, and cunning campaign operative who will go toe-to-toe with Eli Gould (Alan Cumming), the long-time adviser to Peter (Chris North).
Other actors that are set to guest star in the upcoming season are Jeffrey Dean Morgan as Alex, a hotshot investigator that Alicia will hire to work in her firm, who might just be her new love interest; Bridget Reagan as Madeline Smulders, a plaintiff in an interesting estate case; and Amy Ivring as an iconic photographer, who will end up defending some of her works in court. However, it is not yet known if the characters of Reagan and Ivring will be represented by Alicia or someone else.
"The Good Wife" is set to air on Oct. 4 at 9 p.m. on CBS.
