'The Hateful 8' release date news: First official trailer launched
The first official trailer for Quentin Tarantino's upcoming film "The Hateful 8" was recently released.
After a devastating leak last year, Tarantino was forced to make major revisions to the script, according to The Verge. The leak revealed the script, as well as a trailer. However, fans can now appreciate the film's first official trailer since it was released last Wednesday.
The new Western follows the story of a group of eight outlaws taking refuge in a small room during a snow storm. Set a few years after the Civil War, the plot takes a turn when it was revealed that one of them is wanted, dead or alive, with a big reward.

The trailer showed Samuel L. Jackson as Major Marquis Warren, Kurt Russell as John Ruth, and Jennifer Jason Leigh as Daisy Domergue. They were joined by Walton Goggins as Chris Mannix, Michael Madsen as Joe Gage, Demian Bichir as Bob, Tim Roth as Oswaldo Mobray, Bruce Dern as General Sanford Smithers, and Channing Tatum. The film will be released in 70 millimeters, as opposed to the usual 35 millimeters. This is to capture the landscape of the setting, as well as enhance the film's aesthetics. The preservation of 70 millimeters and other film formats has been fought for by several Hollywood directors including Quentin, and TWC, as it presents a special quality.
The president of Theatrical Distribution and Home Entertainment of TWC Erik Lomis stated, "Our long relationship with Quentin Tarantino is one of the cornerstones of this company, so it's incredibly special to us to be releasing his latest film in such a spectacular way on 70mm — we can't think of a finer Christmas gift to be giving movie lovers and Tarantino fans this year."
The Hateful 8 is expected to premiere in 70 millimeters for selected theaters this Dec. 25. It will then release worldwide on Jan. 8, 2016.
