'The Incredible 2' Spoilers: Plot Centered on Family
The upcoming sequel of "The Incredibles" is expected to focus on family, rather than being a superhero.
After many years, fans of the hit animated film "The Incredibles" could be seeing their favorite characters once again. Released in 2004, "The Incredibles" ushered in the horde of superhero movies now available.
However, reports revealed that the upcoming film will not put too much focus on the idea of being a superhero. The director of "The Incredibles" Brad Bird shared some details about his plans for the upcoming film. According to Cinema Blend, he stated, "The interesting thing was never the superhero part of it. It was more of the family dynamic, and how do superhero things play into that."

Bird also expressed his excitement for the upcoming film, explaining to Collider that he is looking forward to revisiting some of his ideas from the first film that he was not able to use yet. He said, "Oh yeah I have pages, a bunch of pages. I had a lot of ideas for the original Incredibles that I didn't get a chance to use, that I like. I have ideas that I wanted to pursue a little bit and there wasn't enough time in Incredibles."
Along with the theme of the film, it was revealed that Bird already finished the script for the film. With that, fans can expect that the studio will begin the film's story board. Rumors state that the story of the film will be set six years after the events of the original film. This will allow for fans to see the characters of the film older and more mature.
One of the highly anticipated characters of the film is Jack-Jack, who did not play a big part in the original film. However, the final minutes of "The Incredibles" showed that he too has power much like the rest of his family. With that, there are speculations that the story will focus on how he is still learning to control his power.
"The Incredibles 2" is expected to hit theaters by Jun. 21, 2019.
