'The Incredibles 2' Rumors: Sequel to Focus on Elastigirl
While earlier rumors claimed that the upcoming "The Incredibles 2" would cast the spotlight on the youngest member of the Parr family, Jack-Jack, it has been revealed that the highly anticipated sequel would focus on Parr's matriarch, Elastigirl.
It has been more than a decade since the first "The Incredibles" movie hit the theaters, which explains why many of its fans are excitedly awaiting the arrival of its sequel. While "The Incredibles 2" is not expected to hit the theaters earlier than June next year, there have already been several speculations on how its story will pan out.
Among the many rumors attached to the movie, though, there is no denying that the one claiming that it would cast the spotlight on Jack-Jack had been the most persistent. Allegedly, sources claimed back then that the youngest member of the Parr family, who was still a baby in the first "The Incredibles," would be the villain in the movie as, supposedly, he would be confused about his powers as a teen.
However, with the confirmation that "The Incredibles 2" would immediately pick up from where the first movie ended, it meant that the sequel would still feature a baby Jack-Jack. Hence, it would be unlikely for the youngest Parr family to be the center of events in its story.
As of this writing, it is unclear how the story of "The Incredibles 2" will pan out. However, according to recent reports, while the first movie cast the spotlight on Mr. Incredible, the sequel will focus on Elastigirl.
Although it is apparent by now that "The Incredibles 2" will not focus on Jack-Jack, it is speculated that the sequel will still show his growing powers. As to how his powers will expand, the only way to find out is to see the movie when it hits the theaters on June 15, 2018.
