'The Knick' Season 2 Spoilers, Plot Rumors: Thackery and Rehab
The upcoming season of "The Knick" is expected to see the return of Clive Owen.
The previous season ended with Dr. John Thackery addicted to cocaine, which put his practice of medicine into question at the Knickerbocker Hospital. With that, fans will soon find out if he will be able to go back to the hospital. The fate of the hospital is also in question since it was revealed that they were faced with several financial problems in the previous season. Therefore, there was a proposal to move the hospital uptown.
However, Thackery was against the idea because he believed the hospital was to serve downtown. Unfortunately, he might not be there when the hospital decides to relocate since he checked into a rehab in the finale of the previous season. Dr. Edwards, played by Andre Holland, will be the one to take over as chief of surgery while he is away.
Owens recently shared details about the process he took for the role. He said, " It was exhausting anyway because it was a very intense shoot and Steven [Soderbergh] worked so fast and we were doing a lot, but you do realize that every single scene takes a lot of energy. Especially those episodes towards the end because there's the [cocaine] shortage, and then when it comes back, he's taking more than ever. [Laughs.]"
Meanwhile, teaser character photos of the season were revealed, as reported by Collider. It featured several characters such as Herman Barrow (Jeremy Bobb), Lucy Elkins (Eve Hewson), and Tom Cleary (Chris Sullivan). Everett Gallinger also had his own character poster, which had a very sinister appeal. This was due to the fact that the character had lost his child in the past season. The series will be directed by Steven Soderbergh, who has taken other projects such "Magic Mike" and "Haywire."
"The Knick" season 2 will premiere on Cinemax this Oct. 16.
