'The Last Guardian' Makes an Appearance at E3 2015
One of the most awaited video games is "The Last Guardian," a third-person adventure and puzzle game being developed by Team Ico and to be published by Sony Computer Entertainment. The game has been in development since it was announced way back at the E3 2009. And at the E3 2015, the game has finally been revealed by Sony during its E3 press briefing.
"The Last Guardian" is coming exclusively to the PlayStation 4 and is set to be released sometime in 2016, according to a report in Wired. It was originally being developed for the PlayStation 3, but given the developments with next generation consoles, it has been shifted to the PS4.
The game is designed and directed by Fumito Ueda, who also designed and directed "Ico" and "Shadow of the Colossus," which were known for their highly "stylistic" and "thematic." This new game is expected to share the same design and gameplay elements as the two previous games, according to the report. Ueda, despite his leaving Sony Computer Entertainment sometime in 2011, was still heavily involved in the project as a consultant.
The game, based on the trailer revealed during E3, still has the same concept when it was presented in 2009. It still involves a young boy who befriends a creature Trico, which looks like a giant bird/cat. Both need to work together to avoid capture by guards who are after both of them. The player controls the boy, who needs to treat Trico as a real animal and control it so that it is able to help him in his adventures and his puzzle-solving quests.
Another report in IGN features a video commentary about the game's trailer. One comment said that the game is notable because "there is nothing like it that's available right now." This one of a kind game also has stand-out and stunning graphics, as well as a unique gameplay.
