'The Last Kingdom' Series 2 Episode 3: Hild and Ragnar Rescue Uhtred
The upcoming episode of "The Last Kingdom" series 2 will see Hild (Eva Birthistle) and Ragnar (Tobias Santelmann) attempting to rescue Uhtred (Alexander Dreymon) as he is kept prisoner on a ship.
According to the official synopsis of the third episode of the season, it looks like a lot of the characters will be dealing with their own troubles and problems. Uhtred will find himself in chains and hostaged on a ship. Hild and Ragnar will thankfully begin their quest to have him freed, but it seems that it will not be that easy. Time is running out and the two have to race against the clock to rescue Uhtred.
Aelfric (Joseph Millson) will continue to track Uhtred down to get rid of him for good. He is determined to achieve his goal and will not stop until he gets what he desires. But in order to get there, he will need help from an unlikely source--an old rival.
Elsewhere, Guthred (Thure Lindhardt) will rue his decision to grant mercy as the lords of the north assemble in Eoferwic. Gisela (Peri Baumeister), on the other hand, will fight against becoming a political pawn.
Finally, King Alfred (David Dawson) will focus on forming a political alliance by marrying off his daughter, Princess Aethelflaed (Millie Brady), to a worthy suitor.
Meanwhile, here is a brief recap of the previous episode.
Uhtred spent the night with Gisela and asked Guthred for his sister's hand in marriage. However, Guthred refused and fell for the words of Abbot Eadred (David Schofield), whom he helped in capturing Uhtred. Meanwhile, Hild received her armor after proving that a nun could be just as merciless as any other warrior by removing the head of a dead Dane. Finally, an alliance was forged between Erik (Christian Hillborg) and Sigefrid (Björn Bengtsson), which came as a shock to most viewers.
