'The Last of Us 2' Latest News: New Trailer Released at Paris Games Week 2017

Sony made sure that the celebration of the Paris Games Week 2017 will be a memorable one — especially for fans who are itching for new details on some of its most anticipated titles.

The gaming giant released a new trailer for "The Last of Us 2" that is full of blood, gore, and brutality. The upcoming action-adventure survival game from developer Naughty Dog still has no exact release date, though it is likely to be released sometime next year.

Apart from gory scenes that include mutilations, hanging, and arrows shooting through heads, the trailer also showcased some of the game's characters led by a young woman who is set for hanging. Gamespot noted that the woman is not Ellie, who is one of the key characters in the game's first installment released in 2013.

The trailer also featured another character named Lev, who rescues the woman and another hostage, who appears to be Yara, from their captors. Naughty Dog, via a series of Twitter posts, also confirmed the voice actors who will give life to some of the key characters. "Victoria Grace is Yara," and "Ian Alexander is Lev," the developer announced on Twitter.

Furthermore, there will also be a "guest appearance from Emily Swallow as Emily #TheLastofUsPartII," and Laura Bailey who plays the woman about to be hanged, whose name was blackened by Naughty Dog on the post.

Unlike the first game where Joel was the protagonist, the developer confirmed that Ellie will be the playable character in the upcoming sequel.

Aside from "The Last of Us 2," Sony also revealed a new trailer for the "Shadow of Colossus" remake. Developed by Bluepoint Games and JAPAN Studios, the game is set for an exclusive debut on the PlayStation 4 on Feb. 6 next year.

The trailer, taken using the PS4 Pro and featured in all of its 4K glory, featured amazing landscapes and breathtaking sceneries that will certainly add to the gameplay's excitement.
