'The Last Ship' Season 5 Spoilers: What's Next for Sasha and Chandler?
Sasha (Bridget Regan) and Chandler (Eric Dane) will have some alone time before they take on new missions in the next season of "The Last Ship."
In a recent interview with TVLine, Regan hinted that the captain and his lady love would go somewhere to unwind after the tense standoff with Vellek (Peter Weller) and his men. The two-hour season finale ended with the Americans finally securing the cure to nostos and stopping the Red Rust. Although Vellek tried to destroy his research by setting the whole thing on fire, the Navy managed to stop him on time. The mad scientist then decided to end his own life by jumping off the deck of the ship. According to Regan, Bridget and Chandler would have a lot to talk about during their break.
"I will say that Sasha and Chandler go somewhere that they haven't gone yet, in terms of this season and their emotional transparency, which I appreciated," the actress teased.

Sasha's storyline in season 4 was quite the roller coaster ride. When she found out how Fletcher (Jonathan Howard) betrayed them, she was close to giving up, thinking that all hope was gone. Regan said that her character underwent what Chandler experienced in the past installment. Viewers saw her tumble and fall, a phenomenon that was very rarely seen in someone as resilient as Sasha.
"So emotional. So emotional! I loved it, there was so much to play, so much to do. In a way, Sasha is going through what Chandler (played by Eric Dane) went through in Season 3, where she's losing hope. And this two-hour finale that we're coming up on is where we really see her break. For me, playing such a strong, badass character, I was waiting for this moment when I finally got to see what's under that hard exterior," Regan said.
"The Last Ship" season 5 is expected to air next year on TNT.
