'The Leftovers' Season 2 News, Update: Cast Member Carrie Coon Previews The New Installment Ahead of Premiere

Carrie Coon, who plays Nora Durst in the series, recently spoke with TVLine to offer details on what to expect in the second season of HBO's hit post-apocalyptic drama TV series "The Leftovers."

According to the actress, and as what has been hinted in the latest promo trailer for Season 2, the premiere will find her and Kevin (Justin Theroux) in a more upbeat tone as they head their way to Miracle, Texas out from Mapleton, NY. The new place claims to have zero cases of rapture.

Coon admits it was a lot of fun and a bit refreshing to explore the lighter side of her character.

"She's dressing lighter, she's moving lighter, she's really embracing this new opportunity," she shared to TVLine.

But for those who gathered the hints from the teaser clip, the happiness that the couple and the people of Miracle felt will quickly be replaced with panic and worrying as the first rapture case in the place occurs.

But aside from the issue related to the Sudden Departure, both Nora and Kevin will realize that despite moving away from the place where they experienced grief, the "emotional baggage" will soon be catching up with them.

"So, of course they bring all their baggage to Miracle, even though there's this guise of them escaping," she said (via TVLine).

Earlier reports quoted executive producer Damon Lindelof saying that there will be some changes in Season 2. Among the points he mentioned were concerns about the presence of the Guilty Remnants. Revealing to Entertainment Weekly, the EP said that Jarden "has certain rules that prohibit" the chain-smoker cult. But he clarified that the GR will still be present in Season 2 although they still haven't "found their way into" the place yet.

"The Leftovers" Season 2 premieres October 4 at 9/8c on HBO.
