'The Leftovers' Season 3 Renewed or Cancelled News: Fans Petition For A New Season Renewal

Since 'The Leftovers' season 2 ended with Kevin Garvey (Justin Theroux) finally reuniting with his family, fans wonder if the finale also served as the series' end. 'The Leftovers' has not been picked up for a third season yet, and eager fans take the matter in their hand by petitioning for a renewal directly at the HBO's office.

According to Variety, a group of fans went to the HBO offices in New York City last Monday, and rally to get 'The Leftovers' another season. The rally was rather peaceful since the group, who wore white costumes, only used signage saying, "Renew." The show's other fans also took it on Twitter in expressing their wish to see a follow-up season.

The website was able to get an interview with the show's co-creator and executive producer, Damon Lindelof, and even he admitted that he's not yet ready for the show to finally end. "We want there to be more "Leftovers," Lindelof said.

However, during his interview with TV Line, the EP said that even if HBO loves the series, they really don't have a definite answer whether it will be renewed. "My hope is that the finale is well received, and that there is a good feeling about the season that extends into the first couple weeks of December. And then we can ride that wave into a pickup," he said. Lindelof also encouraged fans to continue their petition for the renewal. "I will say this: If you are a fan of The Leftovers, let should let your voice be heard," he added.

When asked what fans can expect on 'The Leftovers' season 3, if it get renewed, Lindelof said that he wants to see more of Kevin's dad, Kevin Sr. (Scott Glenn). "The one thing that I would say to you is that Scott Glenn is a starting pitcher that we have used as a relieving pitcher. I would really like to see some more of Kevin Senior. And not just in the present, but in the past," Lindelof said.
