'The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild' Guide: How to Survive the Game's Open World
Nintendo's "The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild" is arguably one of the biggest factors why the brand has risen back to top ranks. While bringing elements that fans enjoyed in previous installments, the open world is a great new addition, which would take some getting used to.
With the title delving into such a vast genre, it is no surprise that it gets challenging, yet it is done extremely well that fans are even more invested in it. From climbing trees to freely picking any quest, it removed linearity, although there are a few pointers that gamers will need to know to play with ease.
Eurogamer has put together a list of some basic tips and tricks on how to play better. From combat, exploration and even cooking, there are pointers that would make the game more enjoyable without spoiling anything content-wise.
As far as fights are concerned, ambush and stealth are always a rule of thumb. These net the player more hits and at times could render an instant kill. To deliver massive damage, one must observe where the enemies' weak points are and exploit this. Moreover, fighting the same enemies would make them level up, which means they will also drop more precious items that Link can use.
Exploration is as vast as it is exciting. Similar to how one would lose energy when pushed to the limit, Link has a stamina bar that when depleted, makes him grow slower or puts him in danger. What's more enthralling, however, is the fact that one can climb almost anything, adding to the exploration value.
If one requires more tips than the general ones above, Nintendo has offered a mini-guide which can be purchased by using 10 Gold points. This carries screenshots and instructions for the first parts of the game until one gets the hang of it, which prevents spoiling any important part of the title.
If one decides to go in blindly or get tips, that will entirely be one's decision, but either way won't remove the fun in the game.
