'The Lego Movie 2' Spoilers: Time Lord to Star in the Film? Official Script Finally Drafted
Recent news for the upcoming sequel of "The Lego Movie" revealed that the script has finally been drafted.
The writers of "The Lego Movie 2" Phil Lord and Chris Miller, who directed the first film, have finally spilled some news about the upcoming movie. It was revealed that first draft of the film was already submitted.
Miller shared the news on his own Twitter account. He posted, "Just turned in the official first draft of LEGO Movie 2."
The two writers will be giving up the director's seat to Rob Schrab. He has been involved in many comedic projects such as "Community" and "The Mindy Project." Miller previously spoke to Empire about what fans can expect from the upcoming movie.
He said, "Well I don't want to give you spoilers but we were really interested in what happens to that boy who's in the meta story in the first movie when he's four years older. When he's an adolescent how does that change his point of view? And it's nice to have the characters start in a different place from the first movie. Emmet, for example, was in an existential crisis of having seen another dimension and was questioning the whole point of his existence."
He also explained that they are interested in taking the characters to different settings than what was shown in the previous film. With that, there are rumors that a popular TV series character will be joining the film. It was speculated that the Time Lord from hit series "Doctor Who" could make an appearance in the upcoming animated film.
While these details have yet to be confirmed, it was stated that Chris Pratt will be returning to the film to reprise his role as Emmett.
"The Lego Movie 2" is expected to hit theaters on May 18, 2018.
