'The Lego Ninjago Movie' Release Date, News: First Trailer Shows a Father-Son Feud
"The Lego Batman Movie" hasn't even officially been released yet in theaters and another Lego movie comes. From the looks of it though, it proves to be another sidesplitting animated film as "The Lego Ninjago Movie" reveals what it is all about in its first official trailer.
In its first teaser, the evil warlord Garmadon is seen invading the once peaceful city of Ninjago, prompting Lloyd, more popularly known as the Green Ninja, along with the other secret ninja warriors to plunge into action and stop him. It's revealed though that the two have bigger connections between them, as aside from being on opposite sides, they are actually father and son.
The trailer shows that audiences are in for another comical ride when the movie arrives in theaters in September. The one-liners and crazy antics contribute to the hilarity of the film, and even Taylor Swift's "Bad Blood" fits perfectly in the father vs. son match.
After the teaser was released, netizens gave generally positive reactions to it. Some were saying that they were expecting it to be bad, but were glad to be proven wrong. There are also those who confessed they were not aware of Lego Ninjago, yet promised to watch the film after seeing the trailer.
"The Lego Ninjago Movie" is based on the Lego Ninjago toyline, and is somehow associated with the animated series "Lego Ninjago: Masters of Spinjitzu." It was first teased as a short film "The Master" and played in theaters before "Storks" last Sept. 23, 2016, The Hollywood Reporter has learned.
The cast is led by Jackie Chan (Master Wu), Justin Theroux (Garmadon), Dave Franco (Lloyd) and Olivia Munn (Koko). They are also joined by the secret ninja warriors composed of Fred Armisen (Cole), Abbi Jacobson (Nya), Kumail Nanjiani (Jay), Michael Peña (Kai), and Zach Woods (Zane).
