LG X Power2 Review: Limited Storage, Low Resolution, Long Battery Life

LG recently launched the X Power2 to satisfy tech enthusiasts who consider long battery life as a deal-breaker. Generally, this mid-range smartphone is impressive in terms of battery life but may not be the best choice in terms of storage and resolution.

LG unveiled the X Power2 at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2017 and will be available in the Latin American market starting this month. It will also be rolled out across Europe and the U.S. soon, probably in April or a little later than that.

When the phone was first launched, it did not look as attractive as other smartphones. It is not a premium-feeling smartphone with a very attractive design, and its build quality is not impressive either. However, the metal effect on the back of the handset makes it dazzle when held up in light. The phone comes in black, silver, dark blue and gold.

When it comes to its display, its front measures 5.5 inches but it is not full HD. Since it is only 720p, it has a lower resolution compared with other smartphones launched this year. That alone does not make it a great choice for those who love watching videos and playing games.

X Power2's battery is a 4,500 mAh cell and it has the capacity to last for an entire weekend, LG claims. It also sports the Android 7 Nougat and a clean UI, so all its features are wrapped in a nice-looking design. However, it only comes with 1.5 or 2 GB of RAM so it cannot be as reliable as other phones when it comes to multitasking.

For its camera, the smartphone has a 13-MP rear shooter. Its bright lighting makes it on par with the Moto G4 and Lenovo P2, but its 5-MP front cam is not as impressive as the selfie shooters of other phones.

All things considered, it looks like LG had to sacrifice the phone's other features to focus on its long battery life. Its limited storage and low resolution screen don't make it a great choice, but if LG's battery life claims are true, the X Power2 may not be that bad after all.
