'The Little Prince' News and Air Date on Netflix: Famous Book's Movie Adaptation Now Making Its Way to Streaming Service
"The Little Prince" animated movie will soon debut in Netflix. The streaming network has taken over the distribution of the film.
This is the first time that the famous book by Antoine de Saint-Exupery has been given a full-length treatment as an animation. In fact, French producers of the film hired talents that are one of a kind. Mark Osborne, whose works included the Kung Fu Panda movie, has been asked to direct the film; while Jeff bridges will give voice to the Aviator.

Osborne has a new take in directing the film: instead of getting all the details in the book straight to the film, he modified it a little bit. He made the themes easier to understand and positioned it in the film to be charming and funny.
The film talks about the Aviator, who is now an old man, meeting a young girl who happened to be his neighbor. Once the girl settled in next door, she finds pages of the aviators' handwritten stories which were told later on by the Aviator himself. Both of them become real close friends afterwards.
Osborne will present the film with a flashback theme. Aside from looking back to yesterday as the Aviator narrates the story, the film also gives a feeling to viewers of longing for home. It also depicts that however strong relationships are, there will always be an end to it.
Additionally, the film has been created using the stop-motion technique. Jamie Caliri and his team worked with flat layers of paper to make the puppets that were given life by Osborne.
When to Watch
Netflix announced that they will stream the film on August 5, 2016. There will also be selected theaters that will feature the film. For the filmgoers to get a glimpse of the show, a new trailer has been revealed.
The movie is based on the classic book by Antoine de Saint-Exupery in 1943 which premiered in the Cannes Film Festival in 2015.
For the animated movie, the voice cast includes Jeff Bridges, Rachel McAdams, Paul Rudd, Marion Cotillard, James Franco and Ricky Gervais and is directed by Mark Osborne.
